Frequently Asked Questions

Q.What happens if I cancel my dumpster delivery?
A.In the event of a cancellation of a dumpster delivery at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time, the customer will be eligible for a refund, with applicable administrative fees deducted. If a dumpster delivery is canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled delivery time, the customer will not receive a refund for their purchase costs and will be responsible for additional fees, including dry run and administrative charges.
Q.What is a "Dry Run"?
A.RTA defines “dry run” as an occurrence when a dumpster pickup is missed because the freight wasn't ready to ship, the shipper had no knowledge of the pickup, or any reason that results in no freight being picked up. Blocking or impeding retrieval of a roll-off on the agreed collection date will result in a dry run charge. A dry run charge can range from $95 to up to $200 per occurrence.
Q.How do I pick a location for the dumpster drop-off?
A.Clear about 60 feet of space for the delivery truck to back in. We also need about 23 feet of height and 11 feet of width to ensure seamless delivery.
Q.What should I do to prepare for dumpster delivery?
A.It is recommended to choose a level surface that is clear of any debris or obstructions, such as low-hanging wires or tree branches. Ensure that vehicles, tree branches and wires aren't blocking the placement area. Also, unlock any gates or provide access codes.
Q.What should I do to manage my dumpster?
A.For optimal safety, it is advisable to avoid selecting areas in close proximity to pedestrian walkways or busy vehicle traffic. Additionally, please make sure to allocate a space of at least 100 feet in length for the drop-off of the dumpster.
Q.What should I do to prepare for dumpster pick-up?
A.In order to prepare for the scheduled pickup of the dumpster, please ensure that the items within it are evenly distributed and not protruding from the top. It is essential to adhere to the maximum tonnage limit, which should not exceed 10 tons. On pickup and drop off days, kindly relocate any parked vehicles or other obstacles that may hinder the accessibility to the dumpster. If applicable, ensure that gates are unlocked or provide our driver with a key or access code to enter the service area. Lastly, please remove any protective tarps that have been placed on the dumpster to shield it from inclement weather
Q.What happens if I overload my bin?
A.Make sure not to overfill the dumpster. If debris sticks out the top, it can't safely be transported to the landfill and you will be charged a trip fee.

Q.What type of waste can I put into the dumpster?
A.Customers are only authorized to dispose of non-hazardous, solid waste that is not hazardous in the provided roll-off containers. Dumpster waste must be non-hazardous solid waste only. It is important to avoid placing any liquid waste or materials that are considered dangerous, such as radioactive, corrosive, highly flammable, explosive, biomedical, biohazardous, infectious, toxic, or any other hazardous substances, into the containers. Examples of such prohibited waste include tires, paint, batteries, paint cans, ashes, oil, vehicle parts, sewage sludge, asbestos, harmful chemicals, flammable liquids, and similar items. The classification of hazardous materials varies across different jurisdictions, including countries, states, counties, and cities. It is important to be well-informed about the acceptable items at your local recycling centers and landfills. Feel free to consult with our team members who can provide guidance in this regard. Please note that certain materials may incur additional fees. To avoid any penalties related to hazardous content, it is crucial to communicate openly and clearly about the items you intend to dispose of in the dumpster.
